for clinical staff workshop 1
7"How Might We" question sheets were then developed for each theme. Prompt cards related to these topics were also created, drawing on previous participatory observations, visual mapping activities, literature review findings, and ethnographic and survey data.
During the workshop, to minimise disruption in the emergency department, researchers held sessions in the staff room throughout the day. Clinical staff could join during their break times and choose 1–2 topics that interested them or aligned with their role.
They reviewed the existing findings on their selected topic, then used the prompt cards to generate new ideas for optimising the blood culture pathway, recording their input on dedicated feedback sheets.
A total of 45 participants from three hospitals attended the workshops. Researchers facilitated 19 hours of sessions in the ED staff room.
