Co-design materials and methods
for clinical staff workshop 2
Following the first-round workshop, ideation and prototypes were developed based on feedback from clinical staff.
These prototypes spanned several themes, including patient management, education and training, equipment preparation, blood culture collection, and data feedback communication.
Ideation and prototype feedback sheets were developed for the workshop. Each sheet outlined initial ideas from participants in the first-round workshop, included visualisations of those concepts, and featured prompt questions to gather feedback on perceived benefits, challenges, functional limitations, and implementation considerations.
These materials supported the refinement of prototypes. During the second-round workshops, clinical staff were invited to review and refine these ideas, and also encouraged to contribute new suggestions to further optimise the blood culture pathway.
In total, 35 participants took part in 23 hours of second-round workshops across three hospitals.
Following the workshops, a service blueprint for implementation and a systematic review of interventions were developed to inform the next stage of the project.
