At LCC, we work across 3 Schools of Design, Media and Screen to evolve our disciplines and discover new practices in creative communications.
Our research is supported by collaborations with academia, industry, commerce and the cultural sector, funding from UK research councils, and through international partnerships. We support organisations and communities to tackle complex social challenges relating to public policy and service, climate emergency, social justice, and public health.
We work with a variety of organisations, including government, businesses, third sector organisations, and local communities to co-design innovative and impactful solutions.
Individual Information:
Dr Alison Prendiville is Professor of Service Design at LCC, UAL. Her research is transdisciplinary and transverses science and technology innovation with a focus on open, socially responsive co-design processes, with communities in the areas of human and animal health systems.
The focus of her design research is on service transformation, with her most recent work addressing the global health challenge of AMR (anti-microbial resistance) in UK nursing practices as well as in India under a One-Health approach in the development of diagnostics.
She has contributed to numerous chapters in books and has co-edited and co-authored chapters in the recently published 2017, ‘Designing for Service: Key Issues and New Directions’. Alison has been invited to speak and deliver workshops in the UK and internationally. Her work has informed policy and is an advisor to research panels nationally and internationally.
Alison is a founding member of LCC, Service Design Futures Lab, a research member of the UAL wide Social Design Institute, and the Public Collaboration Lab (PCL). She teaches on the LCC MA Service Design course as well as supervising PhDs in social and service design related research.
